Reflections on life, the universe, and everything from my perspective.

There are awful, hideous, sinister people in the world. There are guns. Legally and illegally obtained. What would our founding fathers, those that knew the value of a militia and protecting oneself, would say about those who say gun control is not needed? That gun control is not the responsibility of every citizen and our elected officials? I’m disgusted to read and hear statements that gun control reform does not need immediate attention. Or as some opponents to gun control would say, “if the victims only had guns of there own, things would be different.” Unfortunately the wounded and killed officers had guns and several civilians had guns. No one is safe until we honestly discuss the intentions of our founding fathers and whether these intentions meant assault rifles, automatic weapons, etc. And we should discuss whether the country wants to continue on the same path. Women and people of color gained rights and freedoms through Amendments. We restricted the number of terms a president may serve through Amendments. Good things, I think we could all agree. But sometimes, Amendments are challenged, modified, interpreted, or removed.
